During my recent business trip to Cooktown, I had the pleasure of staying at Milkwood Lodge. The hotel was chosen by my director and I must say, it was an excellent choice. One of the highlights of my stay was the availability of BBQ facilities. Being able to enjoy a delicious grilled meal with colleagues added a wonderful touch to our trip. The well-maintained BBQ facilities provided a pleasant outdoor dining experience.

I recently stayed at a charming lodge nestled in a tranquil bush setting. The cottage I stayed in had breathtaking lush bushland views that made me feel completely immersed in nature. It was a private and self-contained retreat that exceeded my expectations. The cozy cottage felt like a home away from home, with all the necessary amenities provided. The staff were helpful and cheerful, ensuring that my stay was comfortable and pleasant. The external design of the lodge was very appealing and added to the overall charm of the place. Despite a few minor points such as the limited cooking facilities and the open top in the bathroom, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this serene nature getaway. I highly recommend this lodge for anyone seeking a peaceful and rejuvenating stay.

I had an amazing stay at this lodge. The cleanliness was top-notch, with the cabin and facilities being in pristine condition. The pool area was perfect for a barbecue and was well-maintained. The split-level cabin had a great balcony and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The bathroom was clean and had excellent water pressure in the shower. The quality of the linen and towels was exceptional, and the kitchen had everything I needed to cook my own meals. The location was ideal, just a short drive away from the city. The fans and air conditioning provided a comfortable temperature. The owners and the cleaner were all friendly and welcoming. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit.
Nothing, all excellent.

The cottages at Milkwood Lodge are simply amazing! They have a fully equipped kitchenette with an oven, stove, and fridge, which is perfect for when we want to cook our own meals. The split-level design gives the cabin a cozy and rustic feel, making it feel like a true home away from home. The balcony is a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Plus, the free WiFi and flat-screen TV are a nice bonus for entertainment.
I personally found the showers in the bathrooms to be a bit small, but I understand that this is a subjective opinion. Others may still find them perfectly adequate for their needs.

Loved having gecko roommates, they provided a unique and lively soundtrack at night. The cabins were clean and the staff friendly. Toilet seat for toddlers, my 3-year-old felt like royalty!
Oh, I just adored everything, couldn't find a single fault.

I wanted to visit Grassy Hill very much and chose Milkwood Lodge for its convenient location. The 24-hour front desk pleasantly surprised me, and I also liked the en suite bathroom with an indoor and outdoor dining area.

Wow! Our stay at this rainforest retreat was mind-blowing! The secluded location was super peaceful, yet only a 2-minute drive to the town. The owners were absolutely amazing, so warm and welcoming. The lodge grounds were jaw-dropping, with well-maintained gardens and adorable dogs. Cabin 5 was spectacular, even better than the photos, and had great parking arrangements. The attention to detail was spot on, from the little vanity nook to the timber shelves. The view from the cabin was breathtaking, with horses, birds, and even a visiting peacock! The cottage itself was private, well-appointed, with a comfortable bed and a great shower. The private deck overlooking the rainforest was a true highlight. We also enjoyed the pool area for a cool-off. our stay at this amazing retreat was unforgettable, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Far North Queensland!
